Welcome to my life. I'm a forty-something who, having looked around her and found herself. Now I have to figure out how to be myself and not let other people's needs, wants, and opinions rule me.

I love my Washington sports teams. It's my hometown, and I love them all, as faily as most of them are. I have no use for basketball as a sport, though. Love my Caps, love my Nats, even love my Skins as a casual fan, although I maintain that football is for people lacking the attention span to follow any other sport, and while I respect the athleticism and endurance required for soccer, diving for calls is a serious turn-off and ruins the sport for me.

My pet cause: Animal cruelty. Abusing any sort of animals is not funny and will get my goat in a damn hurry. I don't patronize brands and places that I know engage in animal testing - just not necessary, k? - and I will favor free-range food even if it costs a little more. I'm not against animals for food, but sheesh, be nice about it. Free range tastes better anyway.

I don't post every day, nor do I post about trivialities like what I had for lunch today. I think deep thoughts, and post on ideas and issues. While I lean conservative, especially when it comes to money, I don't wear a political team jersey. As far as I'm concerned, we need to stop sniveling, grow a pair, put on our boots, and kick all the bastards out. Think - it's the surest way to upset everybody you know.

One heads-up about my journal - I do not put up with hate in my journal's comments. Most of you who friend me know that. I am not afraid to delete comments and I will not hesitate to ban people who violate this. I have the right to say what I want in my journal, just like you do in yours. I am not censoring you. If I delete your comment, it's because you're being a putz. Go whine about it in your journal.
